Dear Friends of Light of Hearts Villa,
As we reflect on 2024, I am filled with profound gratitude and inspiration for all we have accomplished together in 2024. Light of Hearts Villa has long been a beacon of hope, compassion and care, and 2024 has been a testament to the incredible strength of our community. Thanks to your unwavering support, we have continued to fulfill our mission of enriching the lives of those we serve, ensuring they are cared for with dignity and love.
Celebrating 35 Years
The year was especially meaningful as we celebrated the 35th anniversary of Light of Hearts Villa. Our Light the Way Gala was a truly special occasion, bringing together more than 350 members of our community to honor this incredible milestone. The evening was filled with joy, love and a profound sense of purpose as we reflected on the legacy of care and compassion that has defined Light of Hearts Villa since its founding. Highlights included honoring Sister Regina Kusnir, SC, with the naming of our chapel and presenting Sister Helen Scasny, SC, with the Radiant Heart Award. It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces and new friends gathered to celebrate this shared journey.
The year has also brought meaningful changes and reaffirmed our dedication to our residents’ well-being. The introduction of new contracts with Metz Culinary Management and facility management company Brewer-Garrett has allowed us to elevate the quality of our services. These decisions, like all we make, are guided by our commitment to the best interests of our residents. Our focus remains steadfast on enhancing the care and comfort we provide, ensuring that every meal, every facility improvement and every interaction reflects our deep respect for those who call Light of Hearts Villa home.
Nurturing a Vibrant Community
We celebrated National Assisted Living Week with activities that inspired joy and connection, including music bingo, an ice cream truck and recognition of employee milestones. Moments like these remind us of the vibrant community we nurture every day. We also took steps to begin the process of restoring and preserving the historic grounds behind our facility through our new partnership with the Vincentian Pathways project. This project will eventually create spaces that promote peace and reflection for residents and their families, and the general public, while also preserving the legacy of the Sisters.
These accomplishments are a reflection of our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care and a loving environment. As we look to the future, we remain focused on expanding our services and continuing to meet the evolving needs of our residents. The restoration of our historic grounds and gardens will be a key focus, as well as ensuring that no resident faces financial hardship through our support of the Sister Helen T. Scasny, SC Benevolent Fund.
As we move forward, we are guided by our vision to be a sanctuary of peace and compassion for all who walk through our doors. With your continued partnership, I am confident we can achieve even greater heights in 2025 and beyond.
On behalf of our residents, staff and the entire Light of Hearts Villa family, thank you for making 2024 a year to remember. Your support is the light that guides us, and we are truly blessed to have you by our side.
