The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton recently underwent a strategic planning process, learning about the impact its current work is having and how it can deepen that work into the future. The foundation gathered diverse perspectives from throughout the community via surveys, focus groups and key informant interviews. The result is a new strategic plan that will guide work through 2026 and will continue to advance the mission of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine to support the ever-changing needs of the community.
An at-a-glance summary is below, with a more detailed version to follow in early 2024.
Respondents included community members, representatives of organizations that sought foundation funding, representatives of organizations that received foundation funding, foundation board and staff members, leaders of local organizations that primarily serve people of color, leaders representing local early childhood, homelessness, and mental health organizations, school administrators, and leaders serving at the state and local levels.
In total, nearly 160 individuals shared their perspectives on the greatest needs emerging in the community and the role they believed the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton plays or should play in addressing them. All responses were combined and analyzed to uncover the common themes that ultimately informed new priorities and goals.
