Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton awards grants totaling $2,447,604 during third and fourth quarters

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton Board of Directors has announced $2,447,604 in grants for the third and fourth quarters of 2024.

Foundation President Marisa Rohn said, “Each quarter, the number of requests we receive continues to grow, and this is directly related to the growing needs of our community. Our board of directors believes in strategically devoting staff time and awarding funds to help organizations best meet these needs. While the need for dollars and support continues to grow, our involvement at all levels has helped us realize just how rich Stark County is with caring, compassionate people.”

For a complete list of third and fourth quarter grants awarded, click here. Grants were awarded to multiple organizations in three categories:

  • Responsive Efforts: commitment to respond to specific or short-term community needs. Total: $1,148,500
  • Strategic Collaborations: work alongside others to launch programs that build capacity and increase effectiveness in community services. Total: $289,978
  • Foundation-Led Initiatives: efforts to develop and hone programs focused on systemic change. Total: $1,009,126

Based on the vision of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, the foundation is committed to addressing the needs of the poor and underserved by understanding the root causes of poverty, nurturing the growth of healthy communities, emphasizing youth and family, and measuring the outcomes of these efforts.
