Following is a message from Executive Director Breanne Cavileer that appears in the impact report.
In 2022, National Assisted Living Week and our annual Mission In-Service centered around the theme of “joyful moments.” It became a theme that truly encompassed the entire year. After the last few years of many “not-so-joyful moments,” it was refreshing to focus on the joy and the change happening within our community.
Our team creates joyful moments on a regular basis. We celebrate the small stuff and laugh every day. Where there is laughter, people come to see what is happening, which adds to the moment. We always recognize birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. I have always felt it is truly an honor and a privilege to be afforded the opportunity to serve seniors. I strive each day to make a difference and positively impact the lives of the residents in our community. My primary objective is to create a culture where our residents feel they are treated with respect and dignity and are proud to be a part of the Light of Hearts Villa family.
I can’t help but reflect on the fun activities we were able to host again last year… outings, picnics, birthday bashes, live entertainment and more. It was a standout year in terms of resident life enrichment activities, as well as the excitement of the facility renovations with our new color-changing exterior lights, first-floor updates and more. We were also able to gather together at our first annual Light the Way Gala, which was certainly a highlight of my year! Being able to come together with our community and truly make a difference for our residents, it really refreshed me and reminded me of the importance of this work.
We are so blessed to have the prayers, vision and support of the Sisters of Charity Health System and Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine. We have the knowledge and wisdom of our board of directors helping us to hurdle any obstacles. We have the patience and understanding of our residents and families, and the dedication of our incredible staff to keep everyone safe and healthy.
I found so much joy in all of this. I thank you for being a part of our journey. I hope you enjoy reading about the impact that YOUR support had on our community in 2022.
Praying God’s blessings over you and this community as we continue to celebrate the joyful moments together.
